The Book of James tells us in James 1:2-3 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance (patience). You see that Joy comes from knowing the God of Peace in our lives. It is Jesus whom brings us joy. In John 16:22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. Jesus gives us joy In our hearts because in knowing Him we know our destiny. Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, the apostle Paul uses the example of food to teach the importance of all that Jesus died for our salvation. It is not the physical food that is most important it is our relationship to Jesus that is important. This is what brings excitement into our lives. We have a security in Christ Jesus the anointing of Heaven by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 12:1-3Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
We don’t forget those who have gone through many afflictions and beatings for the cause of the gospel and never gave up even in the midst of losing their lives.

Proverbs 15:23-26 A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word! The path of life leads upward for the prudent to keep them from going down to the realm of the dead.

The LORD tears down the house of the proud, but he sets the widow’s boundary stones in place.

The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but gracious words are pure in his sight. Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 1:10-11Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow.
