SCRIPTURES:
1 Peter 1:14-16; Matthew 5:8 ;Galatians 5:22-26; Colossians 3:1-17;

MESSAGE:

What does it mean to be Spiritual and Holy?  1Peter 1:14-16 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in ignorance, 15 but like the HOLY ONE who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior, 16 because it is written, "YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY."

God never cs us to something that is impossible to do with Him!  Many say that it is impossible for me and the moment we make that confession we tell God He is a liar that He can't ive me faith to walk with Him in all things.  A good place for us to start is with the Sermon on the Mount!  Matthew 5:8 blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

How do I keep my heart pure?  Galatians 5:22-26 reveals the fruit of the spirit or the fruit of how the believer is to live.  We all need guidelines to lead us in the right direction to hold steady on the path that God is calling every believer to live out in their lives.  he is calling you and I to fruitful lives not destructive lives.  Many Believers fail because their faith is not in God, it is in their ability to fulfill the great commission.

We must learn to strengthen our spirit man through Prayer in English and in the Holy Spirit (tongues).  Colossians 3:1-17 therefore is you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Take a look at vers 2-4 set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth, for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  4 when Christ, who is our life is revealed, then you also will be revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

When God's word tells us to set our mind on the things above it is telling us to make it a permanent focus for our lives not just a temporary thing to do seeking God every moment of every  hour of everyday should be our main purpose in this life.  I call it hanging out with God, walking with Him talking wit Him and loving Him.

Jude makes it clear what we are to watch out for in this life and how to overcome.

Jude; remember all that the apostles taught of Our Lord Jesus Christ, that the were saying to you, "In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts."  These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit.  20 but you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy spirit etc.

Man's sensational life is very large in scope (comprehensive), and highly complicated; so to help believers understand it, we can gather all its various expressions into three groups.  (1) affection (2) desire, and (3) feelings.  Should a saint overcome all three, he is well on the way to entering upon a pure spiritual path.

Emotion is the feelings he naturally has be it loving or hateful, joyful or sorrowful, excited or dejected, interested or uninterested, yet all are but the ways he or she feels.

There is but one way to control these three expressions of our emotions and that is in the Holy Spirit.  Let me stress the importance of His working in our lives!!!  Truth alone can only bring legalism.  Truth and the Holy spirit will bring to us Revelation.  Many know the Truth of God's word the Logos but lack the Rema the Revelation o Spirit of the Word.  So aman try's to generate and labor for the Lord and cannot generate a godly life in all their trying because it i done in the flesh and soul of man.

Many servants of the Lord are seeking to acquire spiritual power.  But this power is obtained solely by paying a price. Should a Christian die to his or her motion he will possess spiritual might.  It is because he leans too much on his emotion and is bound too strongly to his desire, affection and feeling that the Christian forfeits real power.  Only a deeper operation of the cross can fill us with spiritual dynamite; other than that there is no way to it.

The Cross brings us to the place of humility (not false humility) in knowing and discerning where we lack because o the sensitivity to the Holy Spirit in our lives.

There are many examples; take for example physical bodily fatigue, the need for rest because of emotional weariness, the need for rest for both.  God does not intend us to overwork.  He wishes us to rest when genuinely tired.  This is not laziness it is wisdom.  Romans 6 speaks of our death to sin and being alive in Christ as our success story for living and preparing for eternity.  Amen!!!
